WEBER'S, Reseda

FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2009

Ronda, Cheyanna and I drove to Weber's together around 8pm. As we arrived I noticed that the rest of the Lazlo boys had already gotten there, including our substitute guitarist for the evening, Ike Robison.

I got out of the car, checked-in with security and met up with the guys and gave my round of hugs and handshakes. I then said hello to my friends and D.L.P. fans who were ready to watch us play. I also ran into Fozzy's Hero in the parking lot who said they were also on the bill, which was a surprise to me. FH are one of my favorite SFV punk bands and it's always a pleasure to share the stage with them. They always bring it, so I knew it was going to be a killer show!!!

Entropy was on stage when I walked into the club so I watched the last bit of their set before walking around to say hi to everyone else I knew, which was a ton of people! I ran into Myke Marotta (and his wife, Kim) who'd just gotten out of the hospital so seeing him was a blessing! My brother's Leo and Edgar were already there drinking... as usual! Original D.L.P. guitarist, Luis E. and his wife Dana were there also. I went up and spoke with Brandon Cruz and Ismael Hernandez of Dr. Know who told me the sad news that HR from Bad Brains had passed away and I still don't believe it!

Anyway, I spent much of the next hour saying my hellos and greeting people that I've known for many years like; Doug, Bob-Dawg, G.K., Martin, Kristi, Anne and a whole slew of people I can't remember at the moment. It was good to see a bunch of people I hadn't seen in a while. It made me feel very comfortable and at home!

I was told we were next up so I made my way outside and gave the guy's the 5 minute warning that we're next so be ready. As Killroy exited the stage we pull our gear up and within minutes we were ready to rock the house with our old friend Ike right beside us once again. Ike hadn't played with us since his last show on August 23rd, 2008 so some time had passed but I wasn't a bit worried that Ike hadn't even rehearsed with us before the show. After 13 years in the band I knew he hadn't lost his touch or forgotten any of songs and I was right! We ripped into our INTRO and as soon as the guys broke into ALMOST THERE, I hit the stage and we did our thing! We played most of the songs on our set list but our time was quickly over as we had to cut 2 tunes off our set. We ended with always crowd-pleasing 40 OUNCES and said goodnight to our sweaty and drunken crowd!

Dead Lazlo's Place (with Ike Robison) LIVE on stage at Weber's

After our show I spent most of the night posing for pictures with new friends and fans and a lot of my old friends. I had a blast! Fozzy's Hero were up after us so I stayed and watched in between shots. At the end of their set, Rudy's kick drum kept slipping away from him so I went on stage and held it with my foot and sang back-ups as I saw fit! I'm such a stage whore!!! HAHAHA...

When Fozzy's set was over, Vince Hero and I hung out and talked to a bunch of people and had the time of our lives!

Sometime after midnight it was time to go home so off we went. Doug escorted me to the car and I said goodbye one last time before heading home!

Thank you Ronda for getting my hair done for me by Jessica and being my chauffeur for the evening! You rock, chicky!!! Much love!
